I asked a retired State Corrections medical director who still consults with prisons: 'In AZ and Federal prisons, are people put into prison populations corresponding to their gender identity or their birth sex? Is it different for men or women? I guess it varies by State?'

'Originally it was based on birth/genital sex. After PREA laws [Prison Rape Elimination Act, signed by George W. Bush in 2003] and a case of surgery in California it is on a case by case basis. Yes it varies State to State.'

'Do they ever put people claiming to be men with vaginas into male populations if the prisoner so requests?'

'No, if pre-op they are put in "protective" housing.'

Rip is right. I can't speak for every prison around the country but the one I work at and the many I have communication with, the dudes who try to not be dudes, all the way to using female hormones and top surgery, are still kept in the men's prison. And shockingly (sarcastic), that is where they want to be.

As for those that get their hotdog turned inside out, I thank God every day that we haven't had to deal with that. But that day will come.

I can’t speak for prisons, but in the local municipal jail, you get to go into the Men’s or Women’s jail based on your personal identification.

I wouldn’t be surprised if leftist states also did this in prisons. However, I would think this would be an automatic administrative separation housing unit for their safety.

Female prison inmates are generally tough. I say gang up on and corner "Christina" in the shower and cut off "her" penis. Since "she" is a woman, "she" shouldn't miss it.

Le Chatelier’s principle predicts that systems in equilibrium subjected to a disturbing force will achieve a new equilibrium that mitigates the original disturbing force:

    Le Chatelier’s Principle

So on the basis of thermodynamics, in time we may very well see your suggestion “auto-implemented”.

In the meantime however, consider this:

    Canadian Study

According to a Canadian study, 45% of transgender females in the female prison population were convicted of sexual offenses. “Surprisingly”, of these, 94% committed these offenses while living in the biological gender roles. Who could have seen THAT coming!

    Moreover, there’s this “unintended” consequence:

Sexual Assaults Rising in Women’s Prisons When Transgenders Admitted

As the new compassion towards the plight of transgender females extends to placing them in the general female prison population, the incidence of such prison’s sexual assaults among female inmates rises.

Again, who could have guessed? It’s interesting that even the MSM is calling out against such practices. I guess what’s good enough for female athletes isn’t good enough for female convicts.
