Nice.
It is interesting that the Rams S+C could theoretically use the weird bar speed measurer thing to transform the clean high pull into a quantifiable exercise. Programs like this with more money than sense are probably the only people with the resources (and the genetically gifted trainees) to make dynamic effort work actually productive.
I have listened to and watched this 3 times. It’s great stuff, insightful and argues well against the bullshit that is ‘functional’ training. The Australian guy I think was probably an AFL (Australian rules football) player rehabbing his ACL (or likely re injuring it). It’s a different game but like all football codes it’s fast and needs a balance of strength, speed, explosiveness and power expression. Lots of collisions and tackling too. The fuckery of functional training is sadly fully embedded into AFL too, and yes these guys are always getting ACL tears, hamstring tears etc. which would likely be reduced if they got under the bar and put in some fives.
Forgot to mention, I really like the blad guy, very smart fellow
I think dynammic effort used to maintain a training adaptation without beating the lifter up makes some sense. It doesn't need to be quanitifed beside "go as fast as possible", which should be a good enough instruction for anyone who is advanced enough to warrant the use of it. In my own experiences, I don't really like it and found doing nothing if I have recovery concerns to be better.

I don't know if anyone here has been watching the Netflix documentary series "Quarterback" but in episode 3 you get to see a bit of Patrick Mahomes training, doing the same sort of stuff that you highlight.
His trainer says:
"There is something that we focus on called tissue resilience, working in different positions, to where his tissues literally have to create density and have to adapt to these positions I’m putting him in. And those things give you a little more of a resistance to injury."
