Rip, any recommendations that will help increase shoulder joint ROM for this 70yo?
-
What's wrong with your shoulder? The diagnosis?
-
Arthritis in shoulders, Impingement syndrome of left shoulder, localized osteoarthritis of shoulder regions bilateral.
these are from my medical report regarding the shoulders.
I started using a golf driver last night to stretch the area. Hold the driver head with my right hand over my head and the grip with my left hand behind my back.
I push the head up with the right hand and it lifts my left hand up my spine. Its painful, but should help me to reach my ass when needed.
I re-started back squat a few years ago after watching Paul Horn's video hear on startingstrength.com. That was painful, I stayed with it and it worked for me.
You got a great thing going hear Rip, tremendous information for guys like me that want to keep going. Thanks for all you do.

Sounds like there are boney changes in the joints. Can you press and bench?
-
yes, not very much. A few sets each, press twice per week, bench once per week.
Im careful with the BP form, keep the elbows in close. I squeeze the press at the top (finish) to get that stretch.
Im not complaining about my situation, it goes with the territory. I'm looking for a process to help me continue progress

Post a bench press video. And a photo of you hanging from a chinup bar.
