    Fuck he's handsome.

Good job, Cole. Skritch him, "good boy" for me and my boy, Rooster.

I was not aware of that particular version of goldens until now. What's the difference between them and yellow labs? The fullness of the hair?

Sharing this, you've definitely hit one of my soft spots - the single sweetest dog I've ever known was our golden retriever when I was growing up. On the other side of a solid fence, she sounded like Garmr himself, but face to face, she was wonderfully gentle.

My parents had picked out the breeder they did because they cared deeply for their dogs and the puppies, and assiduously ensured that both their bitch and the studs they bred her with were without evidence of the hip dysplasia so common with retrievers for as many generations back as they could examine. When our girl was diagnosed early on with a particularly bad case, my parents immediately told the couple. Heartbroken, they cried over it, and immediately had their dog spayed. They were good folks, with good dogs.

Mr. Snow does indeed look like a very good boy, Cole. Please add my scritches and compliments to Satch's.

Labs are not Goldens, Jason. Two different breeds.

Huh...I never consciously realized I had an underlying assumption that "retriever" was a base type, and "Labrador" and "Golden" were delineations thereof.

Well, that sure was dumb. Thanks for the correction.

There really should be a dog thread on here Rip. You should start one with pictures of your current and past doggies.
