I am a folk dancer with special interest in the dances of Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Polynesia and war dances in general. I am also an Air Force officer with multiple overseas deployments, currently stationed in Utah as an AFROTC instructor. I have degrees from Brigham Young University (BS Mechanical Engineering) and Liberty University (MA Ethnomusicology) and am now a PhD Ethnochoreology candidate for the University of Limerick, Ireland. My research is focused on military drill and the effects of synchronized performance on an audience. I am also working toward a Certificate in Dance Education through the National Dance Education Organization and hope to one day be a Starting Strength Coach. I own and operate Dance Strength and Conditioning (dancestrengthandconditioning.com) and related Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/DanceStrength) in the effort to bring the benefits of barbell strength training to the dance world. If any of you have dancer friends who are or should be interested in strength training, send them my and Emily's way. I am also trying to bring the Starting Strength method to Utah through utahstrengthandconditioning.com and facebook.com/UtahStrength. If any of you are in Utah and want to train together and/or organize an event/seminar, let me know.
