About No4_nz
Biography:
Born 1971, always into tinkering and making stuff. Would have been a nerd but for being physically competent(ish). Ran and played various sports at school but nothing much since then.
Natural slimness lasted until mid twenties, then the slow decline set in as my weight slowly grew from 80 to 100kg. Finally joined a gym in my 40s and lost most of that, got let into the secret of Starting Strength in 2015 and gained a lot of it back but this time mostly muscle. Then work moved and the gym changed to one that didn't really work with the program so it was more machine based exercise until I thought this gym has a pool, lets mix it up a bit. First time swimming properly in about 10 years resulted in a pinched nerve in my left shoulder which near paralysed my tricep (>90% strength loss) and left me looking like Quasimodo. 6 months and lots of drugs later I was finally able to start exercising again, with about 60% strength and a long slow slog trying to regain strength. A couple of years ago I started working from home and going to a better gym so started the program again, moving into BB Med's intermediate program when I hit the limits on press and was fatiguing badly from squats/deadlifts. Still making slow progress when lockdown hit, and I managed to tear my right supraspinatus tendon when my left arm collapsed dsuring a botched pike press, so now I have 2 stuffed shoulders.
On the plus side, I've acquired a rack, bar and plates, plus bough and read PP and BB Prescription so am in a better position to train, and get my wife onboard also.
