Maybe it's cause I'm too old or maybe just lazy or perhaps not enough food or sleep.
but after Mondays 3 sets of 5 reps squats, wednesdays squats are just not happening.

my inner/upper thighs (adducters??) are just dead.
I only managed 3 set of 4 reps this morning and they are sore sore.

By friday I can manage the same effort as Monday or slightly better.

    What can I do?
toughen up or change wednesday to high bar lighter 20 repers?
    try 10% less weight?

it's only 141kg at the moment so I don't think I've reached any sort of limit.

    thoughts?

If you're not recovered for Wednesday, you're not recovered. I vote for either light squats or front squats, personally

    Here are two possible solutions:

    - Eat more food and drink more milk.
    - Advanced Novice: heavy squats on Mon/Fri, light on Wed.

It is only Tuesday here dude. Where do you live?

You could make Wednesday a light day.

There are obvious diagnostic question, like, how much you weigh, how old are you, how often has this happened (ie how many weeks running), how is your form, and by the way how is monday after friday? If there are good answers to those questions, then a light day on Wednesday might be a good answer. A 20-rep set of squats is not a light day unless it's very light, in which case, why bother?

    ok..

    91kg
33 years old in 3 weeks time.
This has happened for the last 3 weeks that I have worked up to this weight I'm lifting.
Form is ok as far as RIP can see - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o87bw...eature=channel
Monday and Friday are fine. I'd say because Monday has had 2 days rest before and Friday has had a better rest than wednesday because wednesday the squats are not as hard as Monday (if that makes sense)
20 reps is light in the sense that the weight will be about 40kg less - it's still difficult to do 20 reps with over bodyweight.

also, I mentioned 20 reps with a high bar and narrower stance.
in this possition, the part that hurts now (adducters) don't seem to get used as much.
anyway, it was just a thought.

    hope the answers are useful.
