Does anyone know if smelling salts give the same effect? ...or is only amonia which gives the adrenalin response....I must admit I always assumed it was just bullshit 'get psyched' thing, but if theres a genuine adrenal surge, then thats really quite interesting

Yes, this is definitely the form of ammonia we use to clean our bathrooms. But the capsules are much more intense than the bottles your grandma keeps in her bathroom cabinet. That's the reason powerlifters use the capsules and not the bottles your grandma keeps in her bathroom cabinet.
