    Default Do I have to eat at a surplus?

    • starting strength seminar jume 2024

    Jordan, am I interpreting your advice correctly when I say that even at 20% BF, I need to eat at a healthy (ie Rice, chicken, veggies; not pizza and chips) surplus to gain muscle mass?

    I've been targetting <1lbs gain per week.

    38M 245lbs.
    DL 370
    Sq 350
    BP 180
    Pr 140

    If I should be eating at a slight deficit, I'd like to make that correction.

    Depends how tall you are. How far vertical does the tape stretch?
