Gaining strength while losing or maintaining bodyweight
Coach,
My understanding is that it is possible to gain strength as an intermediate even if bodyweight is going down or holding steady. What factors affect how long strength gains are possible before an increase in muscle mass becomes necessary?

Yes this is true but eventually bodyweight is going to increase. Strength gains for intermediates require muscle gain as far as we know. It just may not be reflected on the scale in an incremental manner etc.
