I’ve read the book and i am starting the novice LP. I’m 58 years old 6ft and 260 have been sedentary for years which made me over fat and under strength so my question is where should i be in regards to calories? My interest is in gaining strength and health and loosing fat. Thanks.

I would start by cutting 500-1000 from where you are currently at and cut those primarily from fats so that you have enough carbohydrates to train. You should be able to train effectively this way.
