    Default Insomnia - Training Related?

Recently I noticed I've been having trouble sleeping, and it seems to be related to my training schedule. I have an easy time falling asleep on heavy training days, but I'll often wake up in the middle of the night and lie there for hours. I'll also have random muscle spasms in my lower body just as I start to fall asleep, which also seem to correlate with harder training and general fatigue. On rest days I almost never have these issues.
It's just kind of annoying for right now, but has anyone else experienced issues like this? Am I just some kind of freak?

What time do you train and what time do you go to sleep?

That's my experience particularly after heavy deadlifts. One thing that helped was to have a short nap after a heavy set; ensure I ate a few extra carbs, plus gyration and something to balance the electrolytes if it's been a bit sweaty-I use magnesium, bit of table salt and some potassium in the form of "low salt". If there are aches-I dose with Ibrufen.

Training in the morning, usually I'm up by 4:30 AM and warmed up by 5:00. If I'm lucky I'm in bed and asleep by 10:00PM

None, coffee never really did anything for me so I never picked up the habit. I'll have an occasional diet coke, but that's the worst of it.
Thing about the salt makes sense though, I'll have to look into it.

Magnesium, as mentioned above, is also a known sleep aid so you may want to experiment with that.

Also a pretty effective bowel relaxant so go careful. It worked well for jumpy legs.
