    Default Weighing meats

Should I weigh my meat before or after I cook it. I've noticed that when I make ground turkey for example, it weighs at least 2oz less after I cook it. When counting calories/macros, should I count the pre or post cooked meat?

    Thanks!

Raw is the general recommendation. Just be consistent regardless of the method.

When I first started training I needed to lose weight because I was 6'0" and a gross 275. Dropped down to 213 in maybe 9 weeks. I weighed everything cooked because I just went ahead and cooked all of my meat in bulk. So I agree with Santana in that the consistency is the important thing with diet. I haven't touched a food scale in maybe a year, year and a half. Much of that is lack of discipline, however I do go with the fist rule that Santana has discussed in podcasts before. Two fist-size portions of meat, one fist-size portion of carbohydrates, one fist-size portion of fruit or veg, and the fats just come along with it. That works for me.
