Losing weight while runing and lifting, an intermediate
Hello, I have done the starting strength program for the last 3.5 months, and I am now past my pure novice phase (I squat 315×5). I have gained
55 pounds of body weight during this process (from 155lbs-210lbs).
Now I need to be able to run fast for an event I got coming up in 6 months, I am strong right now (relatively) but heavy and slow, and need to be light and fast.
My question is: how should I go about losing all this excess body fat without losing my so important strength gains. I will be running a lot of miles each day along side with 3 days a week of barbell training. Should I eat low carb? Low fat?
Thank you!

Lower your fat first, then tinker with your carbs as you hit sticking points. How much did you deadlift? Press? Bench Press? How many chin ups can you do?

Deadlift 330×5
Press 150×3
Bench 185×5
Chin ups 9 reps

What's going on with your deadlift and bench press?

Took an unnecessary reset on the bench,
The deadlift started low and stayed that way (started with a 176 squat and a 220 deadlift)
, Sent a video to a local ssc, he said the technique is good

And I took a reset on the deadlift too, for improving technique, that one was needed.

I'd go for a modest weight loss (~10-20 lb) and see how you respond there. You need to be less timid with your deadlift too. Why the unnecessary reset on the bench press?

Got only 2 reps on one workout, so I took a reset, which was too big. Looking back I should have tried the same weight one more workout, and if it still didn't go well should have taken a small reset.
It took me a few weeks to get back to the same weight I once did for five. Probably didn't need all those weeks to reset, mistake learned.

Just work it back up now and go from there. Keep us posted.

Alright, why keep you posted? Is this like a research you're doing or something?
