I was wondering when the typical 48-72 hr optimal recovery window reletive to age started to increase for the novice trainee? I am 36 and just started the standard SS program.

That depends on the person. Have you hit a wall yet?

I have not hit a wall yet. I am 36M 5ft 11 200 lbs with 29% bf. What is a good calorie goal for optimal muscle and minimal fat increase?

Keep going, you'll find out soon. At least ~3K calories for starters.

It's usually good to start with three session weeks unless you are very sure you're not gonna recover. As someone who's turning 36 later this month, I am still managing 3 session weeks just fine. Probably shouldn't be considering a reduced frequency schedule until at least after 40.

Im doing the program as perscribed. I immideatly dropped my cardio (run 4 miles 2 or 3 x per week). I am in the military so they expect me to run 1.5 miles under a certain time but i keep hearing how this program wont inhibit this much. Doing about 3k calories a day with 200g protein. Going to monitor this for a month and see where my strength/waist measurement is.

I aslo just ditched keto and puffed up a lot over the past week hopefully its just water. Is 3k still a good calorie count coming off this diet?
