What can be done for active recovery from over training?
competed in a strongman competition recently on October 18th (10 days ago now as I am typing this)
I took a week off from training then was planning on starting with NLP again. Monday I was able to squat and bench somewhat reasonable. Not my best but not too bad either. Was far too sore that day to deadlift beyond 1 set of 135x5. Today I'm using a heating pad before I try my workout today.
What can I be doing to actively heal and recover?

Diet? Sleep? Height and weight?
