Curios to get the SS community’s POV on creatine monohydrate and alcohol.

Don’t think I’ve seen creatine addressed on the forums (at least not on the first several pages of the nutrition section) and haven’t heard it addressed in the first dozen-or-so podcasts. Having a 300 IQ, I can only assume this is because creatine is unnecessary, but curious as to why? Is it because if you’re getting sufficient protein, you’re also getting enough creatine? Also wonder if anyone has a take on recent studies indicating creatine could have positive benefits on cognition?

And as for alcohol, I get that it’s bad—momma told me so. But how bad from a lifting perspective? Is it like a “not good buy you can get by” type of bad, or a “this will prohibit strength adaptation” type of bad?

Creatine is advantageous and has been recommended in various places. Drinking isn't an issue, heavy drinking is and heavy drinking often is a big one. You are not going to get sufficient creatine from diet.

Thanks for the reply. New to the forum and didn't notice the search feature until after submitting, so apologies. Feel free to delete thread if it keeps things tidy.

Feels more like 305 now that I can use the search. Three plates soon.
