    Coach, there is a debate going on where I work. If one has enough excess body fat, can Ketosis produce enough glycogen through gluconeogenesis and glyconeogenesis to completely Replenish muscle glycogen?

    It is an inefficient way to product glucose and the reduction in insulin signaling is likely to impair glucose disposal into the muscles.

    Ok, even with an insulin spike from a high protein diet?

    A high protein diet isn't going to "spike" your insulin. Converting amino acids to glucose is metabolically inefficient and protein takes longer to digest than carb and fat.
