    Default Am I Eating Enough

Just looking to get some feedback on whether my food intake is enough. I'm slowly starting to buy into the SS method. I have been a bro split bodybuilder for years. I am 37, weigh 170lbs and am training 4 days a week.

Mon - Squat and Clean + Chins
Tues - Bench and Press 85% + Dips
Thursday - Squat 85% and Deadlift + Chins
Friday - Press and Bench 85% + Dips

I just started reading the blue book, but I have been reading articles on this site and listening to Starting Strength podcast off and on for a few months.

Here is what I ate yesterday (no training).

Breakfast: 5 eggs, broccoli, and an apple with peanut butter.

Snack: Handful of almonds, Lara Bar, and a grass fed beef stick.

Lunch: Salad with 8oz chicken, avocado, and olive oil dressing.

Snack: Shake (2 scoops whey, 2tbl peanut butter, spinach, banana, frozen blueberries).

Dinner: Chicken breast with cream sauce, rice, mixed veggies.

Snack: Casein mixed with peanut butter and water into a pudding.

I just want to get bigger, stronger, and healthier. My main reason for looking into SS is because I have been feeling very fatigued lately, my body weight started to drop, my body was just "hurting" with my regular routine, and my sex drive was diminishing... I started looking into other methods.

I see a lot of fat, a lot of protein, and not very much in the way of carbs. You have it upside down. Ramp your carbs up from fruits, starchy vegetables, whole grains, beans, and other high quality sources. How tall are you and how strong?

    3x5 Squat - 295lb
    3x5 Bench - 205lb (failed at 4 reps)
    3x5 Press - 120lb
    1x5 Deadlift - 305lb

You are going to want to push your weight up to 185 lb soon. Heavier wouldn't be a bad idea either but you'll progress more with another 15 lb on you.

Thanks Robert. I'll try and get those carbs up.

I typically do consume a lot of fat. Butter in my eggs, lots of peanut butter (I make my own, so there isn't hydrogenated oils in it), nuts, etc. Sometimes I even put cold pressed coconut oil in some hot tea. Would you recommend cutting back on some of that in place of more carbs or just get more food + carbs in at this point?

I agree about getting my weight up. Let's go!

You'll need to cut it back at some point but right now you need to gain so ramp up those carbs quick. 300-400 per day for starters.
