I've been running the SSLP for 9 weeks now (starting Week 10 on Monday 12/19/22). I just made a meticulously detailed introduction post in the Training Log section of this forum that should cover everything you need to know about my current stats and diet. Here is the condensed version of that:

    Stats (as of 12/17/22):

    Male
    33
    5'8.5" height
    41.5" waist
    180 lb bw

Week 10 (in lbs; first working sets of the week):

    Press 115
    Bench 165
    Squat 260
    Deadlift 310
    Pwr Cln 125

Daily Maintenance CAL: 2700 (based on a 3-5x a week exercise)

    Daily Macros/Calories Intake:

    Protein (P): 197g
    Fat (F): 63.5g
    Carb (C): 409g
    Total CAL: 3070 (~3150 w/ brocolli)

The only concerns I have is my waist size relative to my BMI, and if I need to switch to a higher protein + lower carb diet similar to keto in order to achieve regular body composition while training in a bulk. Thank you to anyone who can offer me sound direction.

Just sounds like you store body fat in the mid section and are under-muscled. I don't think losing weight is a good idea right now given your strength to weight ratios but you'll probably want to down the line. You should see some waist reduction with time under the bar too.

No, you should not do keto to address the waistline. Lowering calories will address the waistline but it will also interfere with your strength progression. This is not a weight loss program this is a strength and muscle building program. Run it out, lose the fat later.
