Thread: Diarrhea multiple times per day. Could that cause malabsorption of calories?

    I'll be going in for a lactose intolerance test in a few days and see what's up.

    A reply to the OP, absolutely, along with electrolyte imbalances and dehydration as was previously mentioned. I don't think there's any harm in using Imodium but you need to figure out what's triggering the diarrhea especially if it's been happening for years. Most likely it's dietary.

    She has Lactose Intolerance related to Lactase production.

    She uses Quattro brand whey because it consistently doesn't cause issues.

    Yea, lactose shouldn't be in really good whey proteins but that'd do it for sure!

    Until you find out the reason, my personal advice is to eat a lot of white rice.
    And check if you don't consume protein bars, which have some milk, and can cause an upset to the stomach. Coffee also can be bad. Some fruits and a big amount of vegetables aren't optimal either in this case.
