I do a shake with 3/4 cup dry oats, whey, creatine, and frozen strawberries or a banana. Blend it the night before and drink it right upon waking up. I lift first thing in the morning after this. Any reason that all oats over oats + fruit would be preferred? Sometimes I use some spinach too to get some extra daily veg in but starting to rethink that as it makes me a little gassy.
Worls great, I do it a few times a week. Just don't overdo the liquid.
Figured I'd throw mine in if it helps:
3/4 cup old fashioned oats
3/4 cup goat milk (use any whole milk)
3/4 cup Greek yogurt
1 scoop whey
I usually use a tablespoon of honey, but since I've starting using the GainzZz Rx whey, I've not needed to add a sweetener.
The consistency is just right for oats, IMHO.
Hope it helps.
Might as well throw in mine:
100g oats
60g whey
5g creatine
20g rendered pig fat, liquid
2 sprigs rosemary
1 shot of whisky (to keep me young)
Some of that might not actually be in there.
Just made my first batch ever of overnight oats. My recipe:
-1cup rolled oats
-1tbs chia seeds
-1cup almond milk
-1scoop Chocolate whey
-Half of 1 banana sliced and placed on top.
I have to admit this came out really good. I ate it immediately before working out this morning. So simple.
This thread has made breakfast much more enjoyable. Thanks folks!
I'm starting with:
1 cup instant oats
1 cup milk
1 tbsp vanilla yogurt
Pinch of salt
Cinnamon to taste
I use Scottish oats which are like rolled oats that have been cut into tiny bits. Really easy to drink. 3/4 cup with a cup of 2% milk, sweetened with a tablespoon of maple syrup tastes great and has plenty of carbs
