I do this every day and have for a couple months now. You can make 3 or 4 in one go, leave them in the fridge, and take one out each morning for breakfast. Most any rolled oats are fine, steel cut...not so much. Play with the liquid amount until you get the consistency you want. Other things to add include dried fruit, nuts, yogurt...fresh fruit or berries...yum.
Are you drinking or eating this? Sounded like it was a drink but seems thick to choke down?! I ate mine this morning (1/2 cup oats, 1/4 cup fruity pebbles added fresh, and 1/2 cup milk)
For those that use instant, do you use those one serving packets? I ask because I assume one packet does not equal 1 cup. (I didn't measure it).
For me, more than one of those packets would make it...more...porridge-y, than a drinkable beverage.
Ah man, someone beat me to the punch commenting about that recipe. Overnight oats are the way to go! When they mentioned putting instant coffee in there as well, I thought, "Oh man, why haven't I done that before?!"
Drs. Feigenbaum and Baraki, another great Q&A session! Thank you so much for continuing to put up the great content!
I did overnight oats for so long I got completely sick of them and had to take about a 2-3 week break before I could even look at oats again lol...
I absolutely prefer rolled oats ("old fashioned") to "quick oats" (too sloppy) and depending on how fancy you want to get there's a ton of recipes out there. One of my favorites early on was to mix in a tsp or two of sugar free cheesecake pudding mix... FANTASTIC. Then I got boring and started just mixing it with milk and a little maple syrup, maybe some cinnamon.
