At 30% body fat, you are already significantly over the maximum allowable body fat. For a 40+ year old individual, 26% is the highest allowable body fat percentage. Do you currently get taped during height / weight? Do you have a large neck? What is the measurement modality you used to get the 30% (body calipers, abdominal / neck measurement, bodpod?????).

Got it. Wow, you have absolutely zero room for error right now. By circumferential measurement, you are right at 26% BF as you have a very large neck. You are certainly on the right track with sacrificing some strength gains for weight loss right now.

Damn I hate to agree (because I much prefer the barbell to the 1/4 mile track, and I prefer the buffet line to both), but yeah. Pull some off your waist before proceeding too much further. Get AR 600-9 safe.
