Coach Robert, have you watched the food documentary Forks Over Knives? Before you roll your eyes, , let me explain why I did. In may of 2016 I was diagnosed with MS. This is an inflammatory, auto immune disease as I'm sure you already know. Along my journey it has been suggested to me watch Forks Over Knives. I know this is contoversial. However, I truly respect their approach to the production as they did not bash the meat or dairy industry. Although this was a persuasive argument it did make sense. I was wondering about your opinion on the matter! Thanks in advance.

I have not watched this. What is your specific question here?

Is that the one with the firefighting squad in Texas that went vegan?

My apology for not being specific enough. The documentary advocates for cutting meat and dairy from your dieg and eating a whole food, plant based died. I was just interested in your opinion on such a lifestyle. I know their are athletes who succeed on such a diet.

My opinion on this is that we don't know enough about actual dietary intake to really know. I'm also of the position that since these folks are not studying a resistance trained population, their findings don't really apply here. Athletes are not representative of the population we have typically encounter here. Remember, athletes can improve in spite of what they do even if what they do is suboptimal.
