Inflamed achilles tendon and plantar fascia
I have a problem with my lower right leg, the achilles tendon is inflamed and the plantar fascia hurts as well. Just walking around hurts. I've had a lingering case of plantar fasciitis for over a year, and after the recent achilles thing they've seemed to merge to some sort of perfect storm of inflammation of the lower leg.
The day after deadlifts a couple of weeks ago my achilles and lower calf hurt like hell. There was swelling all around the lower leg, the achilles / calf muscles were super tight. I've not deadlifted since, though I've kept on squatting. Squatting doesn't help, but I'm pushing into PR territory so I want to keep it up, though not at the cost of injuring myself further.
I went to see a phyiscal therapist with a certification in sports injuries. He recommended eccentric calf-raises(?) 3 sets og 15-20 reps twice a day for 6 weeks. He asked me to consider stop deadlifting, like forever. That's not gonna happen. I'm thinking do a ibuprofen regime for the inflammation, 3200mg a day for 5 days. It's not that long ago that i did an ibuprofen regime due to inflamed bicep tendon. I don't know how often you can do that, or how long between regimens.
Would self-myofascial release with a lacrosse ball, and/or foam rolling of the achilles/calf be an idea? I've ordered a Voodoo X Band from Rogue, perhaps compression might do good. Any tips or recommendations for getting rid of this inflammation of the lower leg?
