Lol. I couldn‘t watch the whole video, sorry for that. No chance I can hear this guy talking about veeeeganism for about 13min... It is obviously a psycological disorder, he proves it pretty well.
YouTube comments win the internet, again.
It's been my experience that diet inspires more magical thinking than just about any other topic in Western society. I'm generally pretty quick to point patients to the first law of thermodynamics when they ask me about Keto, Atkins, Vegan, South Beach, HCG, colon cleanses, juice fasts, and just about any other bullshit proposition for weight loss that some genius has decided to make a quick million on. It is literally impossible (at least inside this universe) for your weight to move opposite of your caloric balance over the course of weeks to months unless you have a malabsorption issue. It's like playing craps. The odds are the odds. The house wins. Starve yourself and get weaker. The data shows that the vast majority of people return to pre-diet weight in a relatively short period of time. I'd be willing to bet that there's data that shows that body composition is generally worse after each loss/gain cycle considering that you'd only regain the muscle it takes to move the regained extra fat unless you're deliberately training for strength.
Calories in minus calories out. The position of that number relative to zero will indicate your trajectory. Eat a 6000 calorie/day bacon diet while sitting on the couch and test it. Does it matter what you eat? ABSOLUTELY! Do carbs, protein, or fat possess magical weight loss/gain properties when combined in certain ratios or when abstained from altogether? NO!
Please never stop trolling vegans Rip, please.
His go to study: "Nutritionally Adequate" is somehow optimal. I love to eat nutritionally adequate food, just enough to keep me alive.
This is the guy that'll get so upset with you, he'll bring out a combat knife and talk about slitting your throat with the most deadpan expression, psycho eyes imaginable. And then afterwards he'll say he was just joking. But you mispronouncing veganism couldn't possibly have been tongue-in-cheek or self-aware; that had to have been incredibly sincere of you.
This video is pure hilarity. I don't take this guy seriously at all (even though the authorities probably should).
I laughed.
I cried.
I had to go back to work, but my day was made.
So if I'm trapped on a deserted island with only a cow and we already ate all the living plants, is it morally acceptable at that point (since my life is in danger from starving) to slit the cows throat and eat a delicious steak?
Quote:
And the angel of the lord came unto me, snatching me up from my place of slumber.
And took me on high, and higher still until we moved to the spaces betwixt the air itself.
And he brought me into a vast farmlands of our own Midwest.
And as we descended, cries of impending doom rose from the soil.
One thousand, nay a million voices full of fear. And terror possessed me then
And I begged, "Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?"
And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots!
You see, Reverend Maynard, tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust."
And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat like the tears of one million terrified brothers and roared,
"Hear me now, I have seen the light! They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul! Damn you!
Let the rabbits wear glasses! Save our brothers!"

Is the wildebeest morally superior to the lion?
"So, for those of you who don't know, veganism is simply an ethical philosophy. It is the belief that we have a moral obligation to reduce the unnecessary suffering, death, and exploitation of animals as much as reasonably possible. Does that sound like a psychological disorder to you?"
...Yes
Communism is simply an ethical philosophy. Bestiality, Nazism, pedophilia, and Aztec-style ritual human sacrifice are simply ethical philosophies.
I read Robert’s article on veganism. Why would I want to worry about combining a bunch of different plant foods to get all the essential aminos when I can just eat a steak?
Rip just wondering if there was a vegan version of your rumored to be very tasty asshole casserole.
Asking for a slightly psychotic friend...
Lol I think you’ve triggered Vegan Gains, keep it up!
I've noticed that if I stop training and lose some strength I'm able to get back to my old level fairly quickly and much easier than the first time. It's also the same for weight loss. Any time I lose weight with a quick crash diet type effort I bounce right back to where I was unless I'm super diligent.
As for suffering of animals... I agree that the way a lot of factory farms operate is pretty horrendous but how do these people think that the average death of a prey animal in the wild plays out? A good portion are eaten alive by a predator. If they're lucky it will get the neck and end it quickly but we've probably all seen the video of that lion eating a buffalo ass end first...
The other options are to starve, die slowly from an injury or perish to the elements.
In the grand scheme of things it seems like an animal raised for slaughter might not have it so bad...but as a person who leans toward libertarian it makes me ask myself...would I rather live free with the risk of a horrible death, or would I rather be raised in a cage to go to slaughter and have a more peaceful death.
I don't know the answer but I know I'm going to continue eating meat. Trying to avoid large brands and buying from local farms seems to alleviate any guilt I might feel.
The book Diet for a Small Planet is the Holy Writ for these True Believers. In it you will find all your sins and transgressions detailed for you. I first encountered it during the wave of post Earth Day hysteria in the mid 70's.
I deal with this insanity at least once a month in my clinic. The presentation is always the same: very thin, physically weak, feels cold all the time, very low blood pressure, has trouble focusing their attention and frequently gets dizzy. Added bonus: has a broken bone that "refuses" to heal and/or is infertile if female.
Eating disorders are real as is mental illness. Magical thinking about veganism doing the following is virtually guaranteed: curing cancer, resulting in living to 100 years of age, resolving a skin disorder, and reversing heart disease.
So far I've "cured" about half a dozen people of this illness. Their response by week two is always: I feel so much better....
He sounds Canadian.
He thinks Canadian.
Oh wait, that's racism...
I was on a Ketogenic diet for about 4 months. I lost about 50 lbs. I think the most helpful part about the diet was that my appetite was greatly reduced. I could eat some fatty meat and some green vegetables for breakfast, drink some coffee with cream and butter in it and then I could go all day without eating. My energy levels were sufficient to make it throught the day and I wouldn't eat again until I came home for dinner. Two meals a day was enough.
When I started the Starting Strenght program I started eating more carbohydrates again and my hunger came back with a vengeance. I would eat a large meal and feel hungry afterwards. I felt hungry all the time when I first went back to a high carb diet.
In regards to the video by Mr Vegan Gains, he made some statement that he can't back up with evidence. About 2:30 minutes into the video he claimed that people who practiced slavery, human sacrifice, and who murdered gay people never considered the ethical consequences or if their actions were morally justified. How can he possibly know what they considered when they were doing such things. In fact it is likely they considered what they were doing to be morally or ethically justifiable. Mr Vegan Gains isn't much of a thinker. Anyone who thinks a vegan diet is suitable for infants needs to have their head examined. When God created women he provided them with the body parts they needed to feed their babies milk. The fact that people need B12 proves a vegan diet alone is not suitable for human health.
One of the wonders of modern technology like Youtube is that it allows almost anyone to pretend they are an intellectual
Everyone hates this fuckin' moron and he is universally mocked by everyone outside his echo chamber.
Anyone that goes to the gym 3 times a week now considers themselves worthy of calling themselves a coach, hosting a podcast, youtube channel, instagram and merch store and apparently people will click on anything. These guys make a living by name dropping then stirring the pot. I generally avoid clicking this stuff to give them more heat but in this case he has probably given you more traffic - so...good?
These people are primarily offended at my pronunciation of their sillyass doctrine. Pray, how do we pronounce "vegetarianism"?

Funny how these vegans sound and act like they have the testosterone level of a young girl. But hey, they're "healthier," all those studies say so. It's science.
Please continue trolling vejuns. I enjoy it very much. The word and it's pronunciation was made up by Donald Watson in the 1940s. You can hear how he came up with the name and its pronunciation here: The Vegan Option - Donald Watson on coining the word "vegan" | Facebook
Please continue pronouncing the word as vejun. I work a soulless job and little things like you saying vejun make my work days a bit brighter.
The pronunciation is peculiar. Is it related to the pronunciation of the word "elite" in Crossfit circles? Should I be eating veegatables with my meat? What is a veegatable anyway? Is this some secret ancient food group the USDA has conspired to hide from ordinary Americans?
I guess it would be pronounced "veegtables." But I just don't care. It is as important to me as calculating the orbit of Ceres. The problem for them is making me care. I cannot be made to care about their silly bullshit. They have psychological problems, and it does not concern me.
When keto came out I instantly recognized that my military career had set me up for success. You see, I had experienced ketosis in a few different periods in training and deployment environments. Sure, we referred to it as starvation, but no one could argue that it melted the fat away better than a George Foreman grill. The most intense was while attending SERE in Maine. In January. The extreme cold had a highly synergistic effect with the ketosis. I lost almost 20 pounds of bodyweight in a week.
That's why I'm working, diligently, on a new, life-changing diet plan I call "CryoKeto" -- details and pricing to follow.
Mystery solved.
Vegan diets result in lower free testosterone, higher SHBG and higher estrogen (E2) levels in young men....I particularly love how an 11% increase in E2 is referred to as "insignificant" by the researchers. It's almost like they are trying to push something....

Who would have guess? Their behavior certainly offers no clue.
