Finally had to throw in the towel on Competing. At least for now. I always expected to be able to set new PR's either in competition or just in the gym but my body has not cooperated over the past 2.5 years so it is time to shift my log over here. Right now I am using a very slow ramp up on the Squat as to not aggravate whatever is wrong with my left quad and stay as strong as possible in the other lifts while dropping a few more pounds. I'll likely start doing some conditioning soon in preparation for a possible shift in focus to martial arts. My tendons, ligaments, soft tissues etc are going to need some prep for athletic endeavors.
For documentation purposes here are my current best lifts, sadly all from 2017 or earlier:
Squat: 460(11/17 tested in gym)
Press: 205(11/17 tested in gym)
Bench: 302.5(11/17 tested in gym)
Deadlift: 507(competition - 11/16 I think)

Squat: 180x5x3
Bench: 195x5x3
Chins: 28 reps in 4min(density block)
Quad still feeling fine. It felt a little weird after last workout so I switched to 5lb jumps. Back to a Monday Volume/Friday Intensity split for the Bench starting this week
Will see how recovery is tomorrow. May be able to Squat 3x again next week. I was pretty damn gassed by the end of this workout. Sleep is never great Tuesday night which is the main problem

Squat: 190x5x3
Bench: 225x5
Chins: 30reps/5mins
I have not done density block chins in a long time and forget all the ratios and it was harder than expected. Things are otherwise good. I think I can get 2 more weeks of 3x/week Squatting then go to 2x/week

Just curious what do you mean by "old"? At 52 I am old for pushing hard at this stuff but not old compared to a few here in the general forum.

I mean that the last few years have made me feel old(I'm 41) due to training frustrations. Title just signifies a shift away from competing as the main goal
Combination of morning/fasted workouts and me being in a caloric deficit is likely to start slowing things down soon. So be it

I did some extra walking on Wednesday and seemed to have picked up a mild cast of plantar fasciitis. This is why the training log is titled "I'm old now." Otherwise things feel good!

Plantar faciitis is def an issue. Will have to put conditioning plan on hold
