Moving up is exciting! Just finished my LP and was wandering what to do next...decided that Texas Method has been the standard next step since I was in nursery so I'd follow the well trodden path. I watched and read a bunch of the latest TM information out there and have made three adjustments: Pulling schedule = 3x5 deadlift, 3x3 power clean, 1x5,2x3,3x2,5x1 deadlift - a la Paul Horn, but with power cleans cause they're easy and fun. Second, deadlift is one workout out of sync, by necessity of time constraints. Finally, I'll start out with 3x8 pressing on light day - I'm still skinny with a 2m wing-span and need the volume!
Starting with an ID because for scheduling reasons I want VD on Sundays. This was nice and relaxed, at least 2 reps in the tank on Squat and Press, at least 3 on deadlift.
First Volume day was...actually kinda nice. The offset load meant that every set was at least 3 reps from failure and I clicked through them on short 3min rest times. I expect it to get much harder, but a very welcome break!
These light squats felt worse than 120 two days ago. I guess that's the point of light day :P As for the rest, Press eights had a burn to them I had forgotten existed, which was fun. Deadlift - I have a confession to make. Back in November/December 2017 I ran John Welbourne's rebranding of starting strength and did it all wrong. On a 145x5 attempt I tore my QL and swore off deadlifts really until I started this. I didn't say anything when I started because it loomed large for me and I didn't want to jinx myself...but with two comfortable triples in the bag I can confidently say I'm looking forward to 150 in a few weeks time!
Another ID that felt shockingly easy compared to all the stuff people say online. Squat and Bench 8RPE and Deadlift never higher than a 7. Looking forward to 5x5 squats on Saturday.
Another session of nice comfortable weights, though fatigue definitely started to creep in on the last two sets of squats and presses. Cleans feel very easy. Will probably stick with 3x3 till 90 then maybe drop to 4x2 until I can do sets with 100kg...
Nice easy day - managed to do lifts in order today which was nice... Bench 8s were more annoying than hard, and a nice Deadlift day - I reckon I have one more week of triples then moving to 3x2.
Press set-up was feeling off today so this felt like RPE 9.5 when it definitely shouldn't... otherwise all went up no trouble. Looking forward to squatting 300lb next week :)

Quick question for anyone actually reading this...
I have two weeks coming up where I will have a surplus of recovery capacity - will be able to work out at 10am and take my time rather than fitting it in after a full day of work and two hours commuting. So, my question:
- Would it be possible to double up on my pressing volume? I was thinking of doing the following:
Great session. I'm currently on holiday from work and the extra sleep/lower stress is making for some very easy trainings :) The heavy press set is just a misload, but felt much better than Thursday so I think I'll try another five this week rather than 2x3 as planned.
A long session - this Delgadillo-style 2-weeks-in-one TM is tough. Seemed to work well though, despite the missed Press rep. Will stick with it for my next week of holiday and then see... Meanwhile, broke the 300lb mark in the squat!!
Tough one... haven't taken a two day rest in a little bit and it's starting to catch up to me (I wanted to switch to Monday, Wednesday Friday for my holiday). Nevertheless, volume squat and bench were the usual annoyance. Power Clean miss was annoying, but right on queue - had planned to switch to 4x2 up to 100kg anyway. Will run those out then consider rotating them out for Power Snatch or some other light pull.
Injury >:( Had to do the workout out of order due to equipment so got deadlifts in, which felt great, then on my second press warmup I tweaked something in my hip (outer edge of the iliac crest). Didn't hurt too badly so I did presses with no trouble at all. Was less keen on squats, hence the mental warmup... 65kg was painful walking it back in but otherwise fine, so I belted up and got under 85 (as usual) and the belt was much more painful. So I took it off, did two more with 65 and then worked up in 2s which all felt the same. In the end I got to 105x2 and was ok so I did the work sets beltless.
Still hurts now...will eat sleep and see how it feels by wednesday's intensity day... bugger...
25 rep deadlifts are a special kind of hell. Feeling pretty good though, may be able to step back into real squats on my next light squat day. Very happy with the upper-body PR's especially the one-and-a-half plate Bench Press.
NB: Managed to step on a scale again a few days ago. I'm now almost exactly 20lbs heavier than when I started...still skinny but moving in the right direction.
Rehab going well. Squat feels totally fine, but will stick with the starr work for now. Deadlift also feels good, but I'm feeling a little more cautious. Wanted to see if I could PC as planned tomorrow so worked up to a comfortable single. 90kg felt good so will probably do 4x2@92.5 as planned tomorrow.
Good session. Nice to have two lifts back on schedule. Squats felt great, will try and return to regular squatting by next volume day.

So it looks like we’re going back into lockdown so this will be my last post for a while... Decided to max out with the goal of a 400k total. With the back still sore, wasn’t to be, but ended with
Finally shifting some real weight. This is the heaviest fahve I've done on the Deadlift. However, that is 7 straight Deadlift sessions on the trot and I am feeling it, so will start alternating with some sort of light pull. Unsure whether that will be Stiff-Legged, Snatch Grip, Deficit, Halting or Sumo. If anyone has an idea for a good first variation please do let me know!
Squat and Bench continues to progress comfortably. SGDL is a fun new thing. Went beltless and kept the intensity super low but it did challenge me to keep my back nice and tight.

And the gyms have closed again... No telling how long it'll be this time, but tragically I have nowhere I can put my own weight set :( I guess it's bye again for now.
