Should I go back to novice lp?
I’m 5’7.5” 181 lbs, currently trying to gain as fast as I can with gomad. My current 5 rep maxes are:
Squat - 315
Bench - 225 (for only 3 reps unfortunately)
Deadlift - 375
Row - 225
Incline Bench Press - 190
I’ve been on Bill Starr’s 5x5 (Madcow) for the past couple months. I like the routine, but just not sure if I’m cheating myself out of faster progression by switching to an intermediate routine too soon.
Also, I work a very demanding job (UPS driver). I work nearly 12 hours a day, and I walk nearly 20,000 steps a day. Which in turn makes keeping weight on extremely difficult, but I’m still trying, and determined. Not to mention, I’m totally spent by the time I get to the gym, but I hang out my workouts anyway.
