Did a search and both your profiles are still there. Just found out you have a Fan Club on Facebook also with 3 members.

The only thing FB is useful for these days is the FB Marketplace, and all you need for that is a fake account.
Permanent deletion takes 30 days. It may be that it will show up until then.
It will take awhile. I deleted mine back in April. When I got furloughed from work i didn’t want to see any crap about the election or anything about Covid. I just logged off of Facebook and Twitter. Then I just deleted it. Then went back to work at the last of July. Never logged back on and have not missed it.
I get my drama from YouTube and IG now.
I hate Facebook because it’s a lefty virtue signalling race to the bottom. I’m a Brit and I supported and continue to support Brexit because I want my country to be free and independent, but dare I reveal that on Failbook? No, mainly because it’s full of bloody remoaners begging for another referendum to be held until the ‘correct’ answer is arrived at. I lost count of the amount of virtue signalling vegans, remainers and socialists I had to block, while feeling that I couldn’t express my views freely without being labeled a ‘racist’ or a Neanderthal. Fuck Failbook! I should get off there really but there are still some friends on there who haven’t become insufferable.
I deleted my personal accounts for social media. Literally there is no good that comes from it. Not to get to much into the woods, but good studies have shown social media serves actually no benefit to the user. The adverse consequences to USING social media are well documented.
New Studies Show Just How Bad Social Media Is For Mental Health
I agree with the gentleman’s choice.
Good choice for a variety of reasons. Watch The Social Dilemma on Netflix. You'll cancel Twitter and stop using Google as well and probably lots of other search engines. You'll also change your viewing habits on YouTube (NEVER click on a recommended video!)
Ignore the social justice crap and focus on the wisdom. I discovered it through Rogan's podcast where he interviewed Tristan Harris.
I deleted mine, but still get texts offering friendship. I don’t want more friends.
Two words: Digital Minimalism.
Proud to say I never had Facebook and never will.
This might seem random and unrelated, but i need to share: they can hear you speaking.
I just recently made an instagram account and I’ve noticed repeatedly that i get adds from shit I’ve only spoken about and not used a search engine for. It’s got to be from my iphone mic; however, certain chat apps might be involved as well.
Last night I was using a program called discord to talk with an old friend. He talked about some dick pill he just popped because a lady friend was coming over. He also mentioned that he was starting to go bald.
Today I’m scrolling through Instagram and the first two ads are for the very same dick pill and hair loss pills. I’ve never done a search on any of this shit.
Has anyone else noticed something like this?
Hah, yeah, Facebook is a narcissist's dream :)
Back in the old days we had Usenet for community discussion, where the quality was very generally good. Once it became accessible to more people, it of course turned to shit, which required human moderators, and then it died off. Most of the decent folks moved to mailing lists which are still viable. There a few newsgroups still active with old timers.
I've been off all social media for a couple of months, youtube being an exception. I've definitely noticed a general improvement in my quality of life.
If you have their cookie in your browser it tracks you. If you go on websites that use Facebook pixel they track you. Particularly worrying as this includes people who do not even have an account. Not sure if siri or android listen and interact with this somehow but wouldn't surprise me.
I avoid it all as I don't want to be a part of their product.
I got rid of Facebook six years ago. I didn't dislike the company as much then but it was just an added distraction. Anyone who matters who wants to contact you will have your email or phone number or find it.
I'm kind of like you, but I'm happy to argue with people.
Only today I had some mid-20's woman saying she wants to "kick my ass" because I commented on a picture of Joe Biden and his dogs that he prefers stroking kids to dogs.
Plus I joined the Free Speech Union which would hopefully help me out if I got cancelled.
I mostly get ads for dick pills and VPNs. I hope they don't know something I am still unaware of.
Last time I checked the profile they had on me, they thought I was likely a Democratic party member and likely actively involved in social issues. Haven't checked it for a couple of years though.
