PPST - Texas Method for Powerlifting - Intensity day question
Hi, just starting this program and am confused about the intensity day. (searched the forum and couldn't find the topic discussed)
pg 142 "Squat 90% x 1 x 5, Bench 90% x 1 x 5 (with pauses), Deadlift 90% x 1, Back-off Deadlift 70-75% x 5 x 2-3"
now flipping to pg 145 week 1 shows ""Squat 90% x 1 x 5, Bench 90% x 1 x 5, Deadlift 90% x 1, 75% x 5"
week 2-6 show "Squat 5 x 1, bench 5 x 1, Deadlift 1 x 1, 75% x 5"
So my questions:
1 - in the first week we are doing 1 set of 5 reps at 90% of our 1RM for squat and bench?
2 - is one backoff set of deadlifts ok? or just personal preference?
3 - how do we pick our week 2 weight for 5 singles coming off a a single set of 5 on week 1 for all three exercises.
