"Professional Research" and Science being two completely separate things that kids on the internet cannot tease apart, they always default to the citation count instead of thinking through the problem, and then say that Science is what they're doing. It's kinda like the climate change deal: people have been told that Science has something to do with consensus by the right people so many times that if you dare to say, "Hang on here, there is a problem with the 'data' and this bizarre extrapolation and the models that don't predict anything accurately and the funding and the review process and the publication history and the methodology and the actual facts that the right people like right now" that you are suddenly a Science Denier, which is almost as bad as being a Holocaust Denier (illegal in Austria).
