Default Where to insert some amrap?

    age 57
    bw 168 lbs

I'm a post novice lifter running Sullie/Baker "old man" 4 day split as outlined in Barbell Rx. I'm getting satisfactory results but I am considering adding an amrap set to get some hypertrohpy. Should I add the amrap set to the "heavy" slot or "light" slot each session? ie: today was "heavy" press 4x3 (I did 120lbs) and "light" bench 4x5 (I did 150lbs). Thanks......Tony

Man, this high reps = hypertrophy shit just will not die. Hypertrophy = bigger, right? Therefore, hypertrophy = gain some weight, right? How tall are you at 168, and what is your SQ/DL?

actually he is about 4-5 years behind the times, as AMRAPs have fallen out of fashion

nowadays its all about high levels of motor recruitment under an appreciable amount of tension whilst managing undue fatigue

Maybe you should just get your squat up to 325 and your deadlift up to 365 by going up 5 pounds per workout, and "hypertrophy" by getting your bodyweight up to 190.

    Ok.
BW was 148lbs Feb 2018 when I started nlp. Adam Skillin fixed my lifts in August and told me to consume 200g protein/day. I'll push the weight on the bar and bw as you suggest.
    Thanks.

I’m not disagreeing with you on that last part. Not at all, but it isn’t new.
