Would it bad idea to borrow a bit from the power building program to a standard HLM setup?
Monday
Close grip bench 3x5-8
Wed
Press(85-95% rotating)x 75-85%back off for 3 sets)
Biceps/triceps/lat raise
Friday
Bench same as press
Saturday
DB incline/decline descending sets
Chins/ upper back bodybuilding
Lower body would be just the standard HLM plus "sprints" for conditioning

As long as the added work isn't negatively carrying over into your main barbell work each day it's fine. That is generally the purpose of a split. It's to allow more specific per session volume with longer recovery times between sessions rather than lower per session volume but more frequent training. People have success both ways.
