    Default SS programming with training software

    I am a high school strength coach and our school has purchased the PLT4M training system. All of our Freshman run starting strength and I'm a little uncertain how to enter SS into the program. The program requires that you enter the % of 1rm that you want the kids to be doing and then a workset where you enter the % and the number of reps and if the kids reach the number of reps it will automatically update the maximum by 5 pounds and all subsequent workouts will be based off of that. The problem is I don't want to necessarily start the kids right at their absolute 5rm and not have enough room for them but grow but I also don't know if I want to start them out around 70 or 75% of 1rm and work up because the program will then continue to update their maximum and it will no longer represent a true max. Anyone have any experience with using starting strength within a training program/software?
