The Press Before Deadlift
Hello, I am in phase 3 of Starting Strength and I was wondering why the presses are programmed the way they are?
Day A
Squat
Press
Deadlift/Power Clean
Day B
Squat
Bench
Back Extensions
Chin-Ups
Is there a specific reason Press is programmed before Deadlift/Power Cleans instead of Bench, or does it not matter which press you do on which day as long as they are alternating? I have no problems with it or anything, I'm just interested in if there is a reason like fatigue management or something. I couldn't find anything specific about it in the programming section of the book.
