I got stuck pretty quick on my upper body lifts and switching to 2.5 lb increments unstuck both of them for about 3 months before I switched to an intermediate program.
I've been doing 2.5 lb on press and bench for a while, and 5 lbs on squat and DL. The upper body lifts are getting pretty grindy, but are still going up every workout or two. I'll probably switch to the BBM plugins or some other intermediate type program for those lifts soon. Squat and DL haven't actually stalled again yet (after doing a big reset due to back tweaks), but squat is feeling very grindy, so I just switched to DL every other workout and doing a light squat day on Wednesdays.

It's possible I could be more aggressive and move weights up faster, but I'm in no rush, and would rather keep decent form, stay a novice a little longer, and move gradually.

Yeah, I took the grind out LP for as long as possible approach, which I don't regret, but it's certainly not necessary. That said, if you don't want to grind out your workouts and aren't in a hurry, why not just skip advanced novice and go to intermediate programming? Sure you're not progressing as fast on advanced novice as you are on regular novice, but you're still pushing yourself really hard and for me advanced novice was grindier than regular novice. HLM feels way more comfortable by comparison, and from what I've heard the same is true for pretty much every other intermediate program except TM.

Just curious, what was the dilemma? I think I may find myself in this boat soon.
