Can't do chins
I can physically do chin ups but have no bar for it at my gym. I am just now dropping my deadlift frequency to every fourth week in novice lp. I can do cable pulldowns or underhanded rows for bicep involvement. Which would be better and at what increments should I begin loading?

You mean every fourth WORKOUT? I assume. So your weekly pulling slot can be DL/Pulldowns/Rows. Do the rows overhand for now, as you need more practice setting up and pulling your DLs, and this will give you the exact same set-up and initial pull off the floor practice twice a week.
