A moment of inattention and the plate virtually guillotined my pinky between the plate support pins and the edge of the plate. Good job they were bumpers or it would have done a lot more damage than it did. Hurts like hell.

I hope I don't have to do single pinky chins for rehab, or pinky curls

The 4th and 5th digits are exceptionally important for grip strength. That said, gripping a barbell is about the best exercise you can do to rehab an injured finger. You may require straps for the next week or two until the soft tissue has healed enough to allow return of normal grip strength.

I carried on with 3 sets of barbell rows after hurting my finger. Got through it using an over hand grip and the finger off the bar, but boy did it throb. I had wondered if straps would be necessary, good shout.

Managed lifts today without straps, hurt after finishing DLs but got the number OK. Using wrist wraps for press was agony.
