I don't pretend to speak for him, but Reynolds is on the verge of needing a double hip replacement. Squatting below parallel with any weight is quite painful for him. Light weight, heavy weight, doesn't matter. Until his hips get fixed, getting deep is a dicey proposition.

Nice. Matt is a strong mother.

Does Rip always deadlift without a belt?

ahh might explain the narrow stance too, that explains that, I hope hip replacement goes well... Think coan does in the 700 or 800 with a replacement hopefully he will be back and squating in no time.

    Nope. Sometimes he uses one.

So I guess the bad hips is why Reynolds rolls the bar to wherever he's standing when he deadlifts, instead of stepping up to it?

I'm just a raw novice, so maybe it's not my place to comment on that.
I attempt to train at Rips place. I think I'll try that some time when he's watching and see how that works out for me.

Once again, I am not here to speak for Reynolds. However, since he once told me while he rolls the bar like that, I will share it. It is a habit that he developed prior to meeting Rip that he hasn't bothered to break.
