Andrew's Training and Gaining
My name is Andrew, and I have been lifting off and on since 2009. I started going to the gym to try to gain some weight: because of my diagnosis with Crohn's disease in 2008 I struggled (and continue to struggle) terribly with keeping weight on. Since then I have had periods of large weight gain and great success in my training, and times of terrible illness accompanied by loss of weight and motivation.
I will be competing at the Austin Simply Fit Open on July 26 (RAW, 181 lb). This is my first powerlifting meet. I intended to compete in 2012 when I was much bigger and stronger but it obviously did not work out. I thank you for reading this and appreciate any kind words or support you can give.
Note: All weights will be in pounds
Age 24
Height 6'3
Weight ~170 lbs

Hi Kel good luck with your training. I am originally from San Antonio and on my last visit this past holiday, the fam and I went up to Austin. My wife (who also trains) and I came across Simply Fit by chance. We were attracted to that great mural on the side of the building. We were actually visiting the furniture store across the street! Do you train there or do you trian somewhere else? While I was in San Antonio we trained at Olympic gym.

I live in Louisiana atm, used to live in Houston. I have never been to Austin before and have wanted to see the place for years. There were closer meet locations of course but this way I'll kill 2 birds.

Saw a massage therapist this morning about my hip bursitis, tried to train this evening but my whole body felt like putty. Hip does feel better though.
Squat 185x5
Squat 205x5
Superset of chest supported rows and pull ups then headed for my car.

I don't know if you want to talk about this here, but I assume that you have messed with different restrictive diets to try and control the Crohn's?
