My opinion is that it's going to be very hard to train without carbs. Think of it this way: you're now an athlete, pushing your body to grow new muscle, and pushing it pretty hard. You need to perform well to do this. The problem with a ketogenic diet is that you will run out of energy sooner, and won't be able to get as many reps as you would if you were eating carbs.
I suspect it might work if you're already pretty well-trained, but I think a novice is going to flatten out the linear progression.
