I live in a rural area, and have been doing P90x and similar workouts for four years. Although they are great, I've become intrigued by Starting Strength for a number of reasons.

But ... as someone who trains alone, is it reasonable and is it safe to go down the Starting Strength Path without a spotter?

(Going to town is a thought, at least in the beginning, to get a better feel for what equipment I like and don't like, etc., but even at our "gym" in town, I'd be working out alone, and I'd eventually like to purchase equipment and return to home workouts.)

You don't need a spotter to do the lifts, especially at first.

Well, then ... it looks like I have some things to think over!

Namely, adjusting my schedule to a "town" workout. At least for now.

Are there, though, certain "racks" that spotterless lifters should consider for home use?

How big are you? If you can fit in a normal power rack, you should be good with that. If not, I can tell you about some other plus sized options. :-)
