I think you should stop lifting weights entirely until you learn how to read.
Hey Coach Ripp, I'd just like to preface this with saying that i've searched the forums for past answers but i still have a question which i hope you can answer. I injured my inner left thigh (probably the adductors) 2 weeks ago (heading into the 3rd week now) and the thing doesn't seem to be healing as i had hoped it would. I've had 2 previous back injuries but both with going lighter on the squat and deadlifts and doing a ladder type approach similar to the Starr rehab worked fine in helping the injury to heal.
For this adductor injury i took the advice you gave from other posts you made on adductor injuries and in your book to adopt a narrower stance. I did something similar to the Starr rehab protocol by doing 10-15 reps with the bar and slowly adding weight until i hurt then backing off a bit and just working at a weight that made it uncomfortable but didn't exaclty hurt. Since it didn't really seem to affect my deadlifts i proceeded with that as normal. However it doesn't seem to be healing in similar fashion to my experience with the back injuries where after the workout it would feel better than before. I have managed to work back up to my workset for the squat but this is still with a narrower stance and there is some discomfort still. However i can still manage to perform the 3x5 relatively pain-free, but after the workout the pain increases and overnight it seemed to have gotten worse again that I applied some heat gel this morning.
Should i just completely take a break from all lower body work (deadlifts, squats and powercleans) or go very easy on it with higher reps and lower weights for a week or so and see if it improves? Or would that be less effective/worse. I'm just worried that right now i'm running in circles, by getting up to my worksets, making it worse, then having to rehab it more intensively all over again. Sorry for the long post but your insight will definitely be of help.

^ is this because of the fact that i blatantly missed the "no other heavy work until it heals" in the Starr rehab protocol. Sorry for wasting your time
And the rest of the article as well. The parts about the 25 reps, the sets, all that meaningless shit.
It's just that i had managed to get away with doing my own interpretation last time for both my back injuries and so in my own stubbornness i thought it would work again. Will follow the proper protocol to the letter starting tomorrow.
And sorry but i just have an additional clarification about this. I should be squatting with a normal stance during this rehab not a narrower stance right, because I am trying to have the muscle reorganise in it's normal pattern of contractile architecture right?
Hi confuzzl3don3,
I've done my inner thigh three times since starting with Rip's program. Every time, for the rehab, I started with sets of 25, and kept my usual stance. It worked every time, I'm sure it will work for you as well.
Note: during the rehab I would still Press and Bench, but no PC or DL, at least for the first week of rehabilitation.
hope this helps,
IPB
