I'm on my linear progression and this came up. I'm not using a belt, and all my other reps use good form. I can say this with confidence. This is 20 lbs over my 3x5 squat. What do you think? My squat is 275x3x5, and this is 295x1x5. What do you think I should do? Should I use the same weight and try again next session?

    Thanks for your time,

    Jim Morrison

Assuming you're correct about your form, add weight and fix it next time.

Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of “good enough”. Up the weight and, knowing the issue from last session, FOCUS hard on keeping tight throughout the last set.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something here, but if you're on LP, and your 3x5 is 275, why were you doing 1x5 at 295? If your last 3x5 was 275, you probably shouldn't just jump to 295. What kind of jumps are you making on LP?

I think OP is saying the deadlift is 20 lbs more than the 3x5 squat, for context.

This would make sense to me.
