    Default Squatting & detoxing?

    Hi Coach Rip,

I took roughly 3-4 months off from consistent/programmed training; and, now that I'm back squatting 3x/week, I've noticed the smell of my flatulence has become noxious ... even to myself. I could be locked away for the smell of the gas I've been passing.

Same diet, no protein shakes, etc. The only variable that's really changed is my training.

Might this be linked to squatting or overall training? If so, is it necessarily a bad thing? Could it be a sign of "detoxing" for lack of a better word?

    Serious question. Just curious.

    Thank you.

I think you have intestinal cancer, and are, in effect, rotting from the inside out. Kill yourself now, before the pain starts.

So what youre really saying is that before you started squatting you enjoyed your flatulence. I would call this progress,,

My advice: learn the subtlety of effective crop dust timing. Useful in a wide variety of situations.

And now a word from our sponsors.

Baked beans are good for your heart, baked beans make you fart, the more you eat the more you feel you want some more with every meal.

Please note not to be used in conjunction with squats.

Flatulence ... the window into the soul.

On a serious note, I've read excessive protein consumption can cause this problem. Since I don't drink shakes -- my diet has remained consistent, to a fault -- there's really no other variable in my life that's changed besides training.

Just doing a basic Google search -- this seems to be a common problem.
