Default Power Clean troubles with catching stance

I am having trouble landing in a proper catching stance in my clean. I have the habit of splaying my feet out way too wide and I'm puzzled as to how to fix it. I tried to think about replacing the feet or landing narrower than I started as an attempt over correction to get the result I want but it is not working. I am having the same issue with my snatches (just added them Wednesday) and it is affecting my knees. Any advice on cueing or drilling would be of great value.

    I'm 6ft 4
    256lbs
    BS: 430lbs x5
    DL: 485lbs x5
    Power Clean 280lbs 5x3

These are good power cleans. You're doing the lateral split to make up for the lack of bar height at the end of the pull. The cue for this is to think about your shrug at the top of the pull. If that doesn't work, drop back to 265 and try to stomp back into your pulling stance, and that should take out some of the lateral split.
