    Default Meal timing effects on recovery

    Hi all, I had a doubt about meal timing, do you need to eat after workout to maximize recovery? Or it just matters getting enough protein and calories at the end of the day?
    For example, I have lunch around 2.30pm and wait until 4 to hit the gym, after my workout I'm getting usually at 5.30 to my home, and then wait until around 8pm to have dinner, it would be smarter to eat something at 5.30 (after workout) or it's the same than eating a larger meal at 8?

    My practice is to eat right away, because

    a. It makes sense to me from a physiological reasoning pov, and
    b. I'm generaly hungry AF after lifting.

    There is evidence suggesting that meal timing is not too, too critical. But I continue to recommend eating about 90 min before lifting, and within 2 h after, preferably immediately. Seems to work.

    Okay thanks, it's just that I don't have a lot of hunger after exercise, but I will try to eat right away to see if it feels different.
