Default Transition from LP to TM

40 yr old, male, 220lbs, 5'10" lifting 3 days per week, time to move on from Linear Programming.

    Most recent worksets/PR's:
Squat 325lbs 3x5 (has been regressing)
    Bench 250 lbs 3x5
    Press 172.5lbs 3x5
    Powercleans 81kg 5x3
    Deadlifts 360 lbs 3x5

So I'm no looking at moving to TM, as I seem to have exhausted my LP gains.

This is what I've drawn up:

    Tues (Vol day)
    Squat 5x5
    Bench/Press (alt) 5x5
    Rows (DB or BB)
    Dips
    GHD

    Thurs (Light day)
    Front squat 2x5
    Bench/Press (alt) 3x3
    Powercleans 5x3

    Sat (Intensity)
    Squat 1x5
    Bench/Press (alt) 1x5
    Deadlift 1x5
    Tri press
    GHD

Given that my squats got up to 325 for 3x5, where do you recommend that I start with volume and intensity days?

This week I did 275 for 5x5 and the first 2 sets felt heavy, and backed off a little today for intensity at 315 for 5. Am I starting too high?

Sorry for taking so long to get to this, but I really just don't have the time to run through posts this long and detailed. This is probably private consult territory or try and condense your post a bit.

Hi Andy, my apologies for previously being so long winded in my post. I have condensed it.

Looking for some guidance on how much of a deload for squats on TM.

    Thanks

Regression is often a sign of overtraining so perhaps a good back off is in order. I think the 275x5x5 and 315x5 is a reasonable place to start. That'll give you 2 full weeks of training below the weights where you left off at. The volume work should feel easier in a week or two as your body starts to recover from your apparent over reach. Make sure nutrition and sleep are adequate
